Two Small World Stories
The First Story: I heard an interesting talk earlier today about a machine translation project, and what name did the speaker drop in the middle but Anoop Sarkar, better known in these parts as the author of Special Circumstances. It seems like the blogosphere is everywhere I turn these days (I think it may be following me around).
The Second Story: After the talk, I was walking up the street to a restaurant with a couple of other students and ran into a guy I used to work with at the Great Microsatan more than five years ago. It turns out he's become a film editor, and recently edited a locally-produced film that was in the Sundance Film Festival last year. You go, Joe!
[Hmm, this post is perilously close to diary-blogging, which I generally avoid—have to keep an eye on that.]
